New ideas are a constant nuisance. I see five good reasons to denounce them rather than try to understand them.
1. It’s easier. Given a little creativity, even enjoyable.
2. It gives the internal caveman in each of us needed exercise. Blow off steam before the pressure gets too great and you won’t injure your hand, and walls.
3. It keeps you in good standing with the tribe. Also gets “likes” in social media.
4. It saves time. Since it’s very repetitious, preparation time is minimal. And the vocabulary is already part of your wheelhouse.
5. And it doesn’t lead you down a rabbit hole of other new ideas, not to mention exposure to people and places above your paygrade.
Fortunately, I see that my advice is being followed.
Denouncing is “in” these days. Understanding is for “wimps.”
