None, unfortunately, that our politicos will see as advantageous to their agendas. Being a "benevolent" bully is about the only way we attempt to intervene in other countries business. With the real and perceived problems we have at home, I'm beginning to lean towards isolation for a period of time. Lets work on self-improvement before we try and "help" the rest of the world. I would prefer to be the wise man at the top of the mountain, everyone goes to for advise, than the bully who tries and forces his will/fears on all who don't agree. Hard to "fix" the world when so much is "broken" at home.😥

Thank you for such a well written piece. So many of my thoughts were reflected here but I do not have the ease of thought to write so thoughtfully. I have long believed that our country chooses who we will invade/help depending only on what economic lift it can give to us. We have turned a blind eye to many horrible acts in other countries because it wasn't in our best interest: genocide of Armenians, Jews, Rwandans, etc, women and girls in poorer countries and countries whose history is women as subservient, the devastation done to the environment often on our behalf. It isn't just a Democrat or Republican problem. It isn't just the Christian right or left. We all own this through our choice of representatives and our lack of speaking up. Hopefully we can do better.
